Job Summary and Qualifications Seeking a Medical Office Specialist to provide clerical support, manage patient interactions, and ensure efficient operation of the office. The ideal candidate is patient‑care oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities.

Duties

Work at the reception desk, answer phones, greet patients and providers.

Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments.

Check in patients and accurately document registration.

Verify insurance and patient demographics.

File and retrieve medical records/files.

Perform copying and faxing duties.

Collect co‑pays and cash from patients; authorize credit card transactions.

Enter charges, process payments, and balance the day in the computer.

Adhere to the Code of Conduct and HCA mission and values.

Perform additional duties as required.

Follow all Physician Services policies and procedures.

Additional Duties for Patient‑Center Medical Home Certified Practices

Coordinate continuity of patient care with external health organizations and coordinate referrals from primary care to specialty providers.

Participate in a team for data collection, health outcomes reporting, audits, and programmatic evaluation related to Patient‑Centered Medical Home.

Experience Less than one year of experience required; one to three years preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency with basic office equipment (copier, fax, computer).

Strong interpersonal skills and customer‑relations abilities.

Capacity to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational abilities and clear communication.

Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
