Overview
The EPC Chemical Sales Specialist is responsible for the sales of new equipment to EPC companies and A&E engineering companies supporting the Process Markets (Chemical, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, etc.) and the industry key end-user accounts. They are responsible for communicating with the customer to facilitate both contract and bid management. The role aims to deliver on sales targets through establishing and maintaining relationships with EPC and end-user clients across organizational levels, from executives to engineers and procurement. Main Responsibilities
Bid management, coordinating Inside Sales, Outside Sales, and Operations inputs for timely completion of bids (budgetary, firm, or engineering-only). Contract management, coordinating NDA and/or T&Cs reviews with internal Legal, Sales, and Compliance teams and coordinating customer reviews. Develop standard work and processes for scheduling and completing bid submittals. Maintain accountability for 3rd party bids reviewed for technical compliance with customer requirements. Aid in negotiating resolution of pre-sale technical and commercial issues. Participate in risk management activities as required for internal compliance. Maintain performance measurements (actuals versus targeted estimates) for RFQ milestones. Assist in developing strategies to win business (projects) through the competitive bidding process. Participate in and drive continuous improvement to improve bid delivery times, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction. Develop key client EPC and A&E relationships at all levels of the organization (executives, engineers, procurement, quality, planning). Other job essential functions include creating and maintaining client sales plans, entry strategies for new clients and projects, using business and financial knowledge to create value propositions, executing competitive sales tactics, securing Edwards Vacuum on approved bidder lists, leading in client contract negotiations, and undertaking ad-hoc project work as required. Educational requirements
University degree (Bachelor/Masters) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Experience requirements
5-10 years, results-oriented with senior experience in rotating equipment within the process industry (petrochemical, chemical, power, O&G). Extensive experience with EPCs and A&Es in quotation/proposal generation and project execution for complex systems (motors, drives, heat transfer, vessels, instrumentation, controls). Ability to review and interpret complex EPC/A&E and end-user specifications and lead efforts to offer technically advantageous solutions at competitive prices and acceptable lead times. Ability to lead technical and commercial documentation in a detail-oriented fashion. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines; manage multiple projects with internal and external personnel. Ability to learn and use new business and technical software, including customer document submittal portals. Understanding of the general technical aspects of the products being sold. High proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Knowledge
Strong technical competency in rotating equipment and various process industry applications. Advanced knowledge of MS Office; knowledge in SAP advantageous. Excellent command of English; other languages advantageous. Personality requirements
