Job Summary Seeking a Medical Office Specialist to provide clerical expertise and ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and we are looking for a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.
Responsibilities
Work at the reception desk, answer phones, greet and communicate with patients and providers.
Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments.
Check in patients and properly document registration.
Verify insurance and patient demographics.
File and retrieve medical records/files.
Copy and fax documents.
Collect co-pays and cash from patients, authorize on credit cards.
Enter charges, payments, and balance the day in the computer.
Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy, Mission and Value Statement.
Perform other duties as required.
Read, understand, and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures.
Assume additional duties if practice is certified as Patient Centered Medical Home, including coordination of continuity of patient care with external organizations, and participation in data collection, health outcomes reporting, audits and programmatic evaluation related to Patient Centered Medical Home.
Qualifications
Less than one year of experience required; one to three years of experience preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced environment.
Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical billing preferred.
