Managing Consultant, Air Quality and Environmental Compliance ERM

is seeking a Managing Consultant to join our growing team in

Atlanta, GA . The successful candidate will work on a variety of technically challenging compliance projects for clients in the power, manufacturing, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors, taking increasing responsibility for task and project management duties. RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical assistance on air quality management, EHS regulatory compliance, and management systems projects.

Develop plans, permits, and procedures related to air permitting and compliance, including complete and accurate air quality permit applications for Title V and New Source Review programs.

Help manage strategic air permits and compliance assurance programs for industrial clients with complex regulatory issues.

Serve as a technical resource on air quality compliance assurance and permitting programs, including regulatory analyses of industrial facility operations; major and minor source air permit applications under NSR, PSD, Title V, and state‑level regulations; and NESHAP MACT compliance programs.

Prepare emission inventory reports; quantify air pollutant emissions and impacts.

Assist with implementation of climate change projects, such as greenhouse gas inventories, emission reductions, energy efficiency, public disclosure and verification.

Perform environmental compliance audits and support implementation of follow‑up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Assist with implementation of environmental management systems and programs for corporate clients.

Provide on‑site EHS compliance support at client facilities across a broad range of environmental media (e.g., Oil Pollution Act, Clean Water Act, Emergency Planning Community Right to Know, Resource Conservation & Recovery Act).

Prepare recommendations and reporting of results from client site assessments and audits.

Perform or support Phase I Environmental Site Assessments to support property due diligence services.

Assist with preparation of technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads; maintain client relationships that generate repeat business.

Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.

Perform and manage multiple tasks within scope, budget, and schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

REQUIREMENTS

BS in engineering or sciences (chemical, environmental, mechanical, or civil); MS a plus. Equivalent experience accepted.

4+ years (6‑10 preferred) of environmental compliance experience; consulting and permitting experience preferred.

Proficiency with state and federal environmental regulations and understanding of environmental permit processes.

Demonstrated understanding of air emissions and emission reporting processes.

Strong MS Office computer skills; advanced understanding of PowerPoint, Excel, and Access desired.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports and standards.

Ability to succeed in a fast‑paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed (travel up to 50%).
