Our team partners with a major automotive (OEM) to protect innovations shaping the future of mobility including connected vehicles, autonomous driving, electrification, and embedded software systems. About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Patent Attorney with a background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering to join our growing team. The successful candidate will focus primarily on preparing and prosecuting automotive-related patents for a global OEM client and will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of cutting-edge technologies in vehicle systems, electronics, and software. Responsibilities
Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications, primarily in automotive technologies such as software systems, electronics, autonomous driving, and connectivity. Conduct patentability, infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses. Collaborate closely with engineers, inventors, and in-house counsel at a major OEM client. Provide strategic IP counseling and contribute to portfolio development and management. Stay informed about evolving patent laws and industry trends affecting automotive and software technologies. Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school. Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state. Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience in related technology areas. Preferred
Experience in automotive technologies, control systems, electronics, or software patents. Exceptional communication and technical writing skills.
