Overview

Director, Social Media NBC New York at NBCUniversal. Lead strategic, data-driven social media initiatives to expand reach and monetization across platforms including Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. Role focuses on transforming social journalism through short-form video and influencing strategy and execution across NBC and Telemundo local stations and Regional Sports Networks. Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement holistic platform, partnership, content and moderation strategies for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube in alignment with audience growth, engagement, and revenue goals. Ensure short-form video and platform-first content align with platform strategies to meet audience and revenue targets. Create repeatable frameworks and toolkits enabling NBC and Telemundo local stations and RSNs to execute best-in-class social media strategies around key tentpoles, breaking news and daily coverage. Translate editorial and business priorities into tailored platform strategies in English and Spanish. Guide frameworks and best practices for content packaging decisions including titles, thumbnails, hashtags, and SEO optimization. Lead trainings, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions with newsroom social and editorial teams. Set platform KPIs and collaborate with research to build dashboards for continuous optimization. Utilize analytics to track performance, identify trends, and adjust strategies for impact. Partner with editorial, marketing, and product teams to align multiplatform priorities. Advocate for platform-first thinking in newsroom workflows and content planning cycles. Surface insights and share learnings across NBC News and NBCU to build broader strategic alignment. Act as admin for business portfolios of key platforms and ensure cybersecurity best practices with NBCU Cyber team and Local Tech Ops. Qualifications

7+ years of experience in digital media, audience development, or social media strategy with a focus on YouTube and short-form video. Proven experience managing social strategies across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube in a news, media, or multiplatform environment. Strong understanding of content trends, creator ecosystems, and algorithm dynamics on social video platforms. Experience working with large, multi-brand portfolios and creating scalable systems. Demonstrated ability to build infrastructure, lead trainings, and manage organizational change. Deep analytical skills with ability to interpret data and apply it to strategy. Familiarity with podcasts and growing visibility across social platforms. Proficient in English and Spanish preferred; experience with Spanish-language content and/or multicultural audiences is a plus. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Additional Requirements

Must be willing to work in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or Miami. Resume/CV submission required online to be considered. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. Position designated as hybrid, requiring in-office presence a minimum of three days per week (ramping to four days per week starting January 5, 2026). Company may change in-office requirements. This position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other perks. Salary range: $105,000 - $140,000 plus bonus and long-term incentives.
