The Tech Lead for Technical Operations is a key team member of Freddie Mac's Enterprise Risk Business Technology Team within the Enterprise Risk Organization. The team provides technology and data solutions for Financial Risk, Non-Financial Risk, Financial Crimes and Compliance, partnering across the Enterprise Risk to define strategies, roadmaps, objectives, and delivery capabilities that transform the businesses. This role will be responsible for driving operational excellence while working across the organization to manage infrastructure, cybersecurity, obsolescence, DevOps, vendor relationships, and alignment of technical initiatives with business goals and the overall enterprise Freddie Mac technology strategy. The Tech Lead will be a key technical leader collaborating with product development, engineering, data, and business teams, providing strategic leadership and technical mentorship. You will contribute to a technology operations strategy and ensure operations are managed effectively while partnering across Freddie Mac's technology organization. This position requires a strong communicator with solid project management skills. Our Impact

Delivery of Enterprise Risk technology and data solutions for Financial, Non-Financial, Financial Crimes and Compliance organizations that enable operational efficiency and business transformation.

Ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and standards through technology solutions.

Integration with a common Freddie Mac Enterprise data platform to enable effective risk-related data analytics and reporting.

Enablement of the overall Freddie Mac technology vision within Enterprise Risk to drive technology innovation and modernization, including transformation through GenAI.

Enabling secure operations and solutions.

Your Impact

Lead and manage complex, high-impact technical operations, including obsolescence management, infrastructure management, DevOps, vendor management and user support across multiple systems and teams, contributing to the overall technology vision across Enterprise Risk.

Develop, manage, and report on SLAs, performance metrics, etc.

Monitor and address cybersecurity findings by partnering with development teams across the organization.

Ensure security, compliance, and governance standards are met across all tech operations.

Lead incident response and root cause analysis for critical system outages or issues.

Drive cross-functional alignment, balancing innovation, speed, and technical debt.

Collaborate with Freddie Mac Enterprise Technology, Architecture, Data, and Security organizations to ensure solutions are aligned with enterprise standards and principles.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

10+ years of progressive software engineering and IT operations experience.

3+ years in technical leadership role.

Deep experience and strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies.

3+ years of cybersecurity experience, with CISSP certification preferred.

3+ years of relevant large-scale enterprise transformation experience.

5+ years of Project Management experience.

Prior experience in the primary or secondary mortgage industry is desirable, with experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) required.

Certifications in cloud operations and DevOps (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Operations Engineer) are preferred.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex ideas into actionable outcomes.

Time-type: Full time FLSA Status: Exempt Freddie Mac offers a comprehensive total rewards package to include competitive compensation and market-leading benefit programs. Information on these benefit programs is available on our Careers site. This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $145,000 - $217,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
