Human Resources Manager

responsible for providing advanced-level support across a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, compliance, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, and organizational development. This role operates with a high degree of independence and works closely with employees and leadership to ensure consistent and equitable application of HR policies and practices. Based at our Napa, CA location, this role will provide HR support to all winery employees across four Northern California sites (56 total employees). Frequent travel and onsite presence at each Northern California location is required. The role will also support Southern California employees remotely and through occasional in-person visits as needed. Employee Relations & Compliance

– Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment law; conduct investigations; maintain confidentiality; ensure policy consistency; respond to legal claims, audits, or inquiries. Performance Management & Coaching

– Support performance reviews, goal setting, evaluations, coaching, corrective action, and succession planning. Compensation & Benefits Support

– Support annual compensation processes; collaborate on benefits administration and education; partner on leave of absence processes to ensure ADA/FEHA compliance and reasonable accommodations. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

– Align hiring with workforce planning; participate in interviews; ensure smooth onboarding and initial training. Learning, Development & Culture

– Support training programs; facilitate workshops on topics such as anti-harassment, leadership, ethics, and wage/hour; promote engagement initiatives. Project Management & HR Initiatives

– Participate in or lead HR projects; contribute to program policy development; collaborate cross-functionally to deliver HR solutions. Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with strong expertise in employee relations, compliance, performance management, and talent development. They are independent, professional, discreet, and able to build trust across all levels. They are detail-oriented, tech-savvy, data-informed, collaborative, and motivated by a positive workplace culture and continuous improvement. What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required). Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a management role. Experience in a multi-site environment preferred. HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred. In-depth knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, Title VII, etc.). Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality. Analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG, Power DMS). Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Compensation & Growth

The Human Resources Manager role is critical as a bridge between HR strategy and day-to-day employee experience. This position ensures HR policies and programs are compliant and aligned with the company culture and business goals. The role acts as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders to resolve issues, support performance and development, and foster a fair, respectful, and inclusive workplace. Growth Path: Outstanding performance may lead to broader leadership roles across the organization. Pay Range: $115,000 – $125,000 and may include a discretionary bonus.
