Registered Nurse (RN) - Locked Psych Unit – Per Diem Position Location: Corona Rehabilitation Center, Corona, CA Responsibilities
Reporting to the Nurse Manager and Director of Behavioral Health Services, this position will require accountability for the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health of patients assigned to his/her care. Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills in the application of nursing process skills to deliver quality care to patients with serious and persistent mental illness. Works in conjunction with the Charge Nurse and may function as Relief Charge Nurse, as needed. Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric diagnosis(es), terminology and medical record charting. Ability to work with minimal supervision. MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE At least two (2) years of experience working with clients with serious and persistent mental illness, preferably one of those years in an inpatient setting. Excellent verbal and written skills. MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION Assaultive Behavior Management Training required within 90 days from date of hire. REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS Current California RN license required. Current BLS (CPR) Certificate required. EEO Statement
