Project Sales Engineer – HVAC & Plumbing Construction Kansas City Metro | Full-Time | Base + Commission We’re working with a trusted mechanical contractor in the Kansas City area that specializes in complex commercial and industrial HVAC and plumbing projects. Known for their engineering expertise and strong partnerships with repeat clients, this team delivers technically sound, efficient mechanical solutions for a wide range of building types. We’re looking for a
Project Sales Engineer
to lead business development efforts through strategic relationships with general contractors, developers, property owners, and design teams. This role is ideal for someone with a technical foundation—especially an engineering degree or licensure—who can speak the language of construction, influence early design decisions, and drive projects forward from concept through contract. This is not just a sales role—it’s about being a technical advisor and trusted resource in the construction community. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with GCs, owners, architects, and developers Identify and track project opportunities from pre-construction through bid and award Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, and project management teams Participate in early design discussions to influence mechanical system selection Attend industry events, site visits, pre-bid walkthroughs, and networking opportunities Manage pipeline activities and reporting through CRM and internal tools Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related technical field P.E. license (or in progress) highly Prior experience with HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical system design/sales Understanding of mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction timelines Excellent communication and presentation skills Comfortable operating in a relationship-driven, consultative sales environment Knowledge of Kansas City commercial construction market strongly If you are interested in applying for this job please press the Apply Button and follow the application process.
