Position: Immigration Attorney
Location: Sacramento/Los Angeles

Licensing & Language
Bar (Required)
Russian or Armenian Speaker
Work Location: In person, Los Angeles, CA (Relocate before starting work required)
Responsibilities
Counsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcome
Determine case strategies and solutions to serve clients’ needs after analysis
Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff
Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions
Work closely with and provide leadership to administrative staff concerning client billing, client meetings and invoicing, as well as finalizing client projects
Provide representation to immigrants before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (non-detained and detained), USCIS, and CA state court proceedings related to removal proceedings
Manage a caseload of removal defense cases in the Immigration Court
Prepare and litigate applications for relief from removal (asylum, withholding of removal, CAT, cancellation of removal, and adjustment of status)
Represent clients in family-based immigration matters before USCIS, the Department of State, and consulates worldwide (including U-visas, N-400, VAWA, I-601A, I-212 waivers, and related family petitions)
Conduct legal research to support cases
Update client meetings and case strategy with administrative staff; provide leadership in those activities
Analyze client needs, propose solutions, and strategize cases
Take on additional responsibilities as the role evolves
Qualifications
Active membership in local bar association preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Advanced computer skills with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required
Ability to work independently while handling multiple files
Strong decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
Education & Experience
Juris Doctorate and an active bar license in any state required
3-4 years of experience on a combination of VAWA, U, T, Naturalization, Removal Defense, and Family-Based cases preferred
Fluency in English and Russian strongly preferred
Compensation $160,000 yearly
