Job Summary:
Leads the emulation of usually mid‑to‑large‑sized complex material handling systems, developing, designing, engineering, and integrating multiple technologies. Works with software and controls engineering to develop 3D models for mid‑sized automated projects. Reviews and monitors the work of other team members and mentors less‑senior team members. Typically tasked to develop client deliverable solutions.

ILUS Responsibilities
Performs and leads emulation of usually mid‑to‑large‑sized material handling systems, developing, designing, engineering, and integrating multiple technologies. Reviews the work of other team members and mentors less‑senior team members. Collaborates with other engineers supporting the design of usually mid‑to‑large‑sized end‑to‑end material handling systems that integrate multiple technologies such as sortation conveyors, automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics, voice and light picking systems, and supporting structures. Develops 3D emulation models to validate system equipment controls and system software for internal or client/customer use. Provides engineering support for emulation models. Performs data collection and analysis to define design criteria and validate designs. Identifies opportunities for process and product improvement. Works with vendors to develop emulation models or interface points. Provides feedback to multidisciplinary engineering teams and clients about design considerations, consequences, and results derived from the emulation. Travels up to 10% Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial or related technical field or equivalent experience. Experience in material handling industry, minimum of 7 years. Experience in simulation or emulation, minimum of 5 years. Experience in software development with emphasis on object‑oriented design, minimum 3 years. Advanced knowledge of material handling, including controls and software and material handling equipment technology. Advanced knowledge of process improvement processes and mathematical modeling of systems. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Visio, and SQL and knowledge of Microsoft Power BI. Familiarity with AutoCAD. Advanced knowledge of JavaScript or similar scripting languages. Familiar with UX concepts. Advanced knowledge or experience with Demo/Emulate 3D, Automod, or similar simulation software. Ability to multi‑task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines. Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced results‑oriented environment. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong data visualization and presentation skills. Strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills. Ability to read and understand and perform gap analysis on interface specification documents. Ability to learn new technologies.
