Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering (required).
Experience: 3 to 7 years of professional experience in electrical design and project execution within industrial automation or manufacturing environments.
About the Role The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for the design, execution, and delivery of electrical and control systems for automated manufacturing lines. This position requires expertise in electrical design, project coordination, and site wiring/installation activities. The Electrical Project Engineer ensures that all project deliverables meet Company’s Engineering technical standards, cost objectives, and schedule commitments while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities Design and Engineering
Develop motor list and I/O list based on P&ID and functional description.
Develop or supervise contractors developing detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD electrical, review, and approve detailed electrical drawings.
Specify, design or supervise contractors designing switchboards, control panels, power panels, cable schedules, and cable trays.
Ensure all designs comply with NFPA 70/National Electrical Code (NEC), International Electrical Code (IEC), and applicable international standards.
Collaborate with Control Engineers to integrate electrical hardware and control systems seamlessly.
Prepare or supervise contractors preparing BOM, maintain or supervise accurate bills of materials (BOM), electrical schematics, and documentation for assigned projects.
Project Management and Coordination
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal departments to ensure alignment of technical and logistical requirements.
Plan, organize, and manage electrical project activities from concept through installation & commissioning.
Establish and maintain project schedules, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget in cooperation with project manager (PM).
Provide regular project status updates and clear reports for the Project Manager (PM) and Electrical Engineering Manager.
Field Activities
Site visits as required to ensure installation complies with electrical.
More frequent site visits until familiar with Company’s Technology (up to 30%).
Continuous Improvement and Standards
Support the development and implementation of standardized electrical and control design practices.
Contribute to improving Company’s technical solutions through feedback and lessons learned.
Promote critical thinking and knowledge sharing among team members.
Assist in developing training materials and mentoring junior engineers as needed.
