Hadoop & ETL Developer (Production Support)

Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr Role: Hadoop & ETL Developer (Production Support) We are seeking an experienced Hadoop & ETL Developer with strong production support expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting big data solutions in a challenging environment, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of data pipelines in production. Responsibilities Support and maintain production (Level 3) data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and resolve technical problems in real-time. Understand system design, propose high-level and detailed technical solutions, and suggest innovative out-of-the-box approaches to solve business and technical challenges. Engage in discussions with the Information Architecture team for design solutions, technology adoption, and requirements gathering. Collaborate with near-shore and offshore teams, support functions like L2, development, testing, and upstream/downstream partners. Contribute to BAU support activities such as analysis, coding, proposing improvements, and driving development remotely. Work on multiple concurrent projects, demonstrating ownership and pride in deliverables. Attend project meetings, understand client requirements, and translate them into technical designs and code. Be flexible to work on weekends (at least once a month) with available compensatory time off during weekdays. Quickly analyze and resolve production issues to minimize downtime. Partner with Business Analysts for requirement understanding and translating business needs into technical solutions. Identify gaps in technology solutions and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency and stability. Ensure adherence to quality, process, and governance standards.

Requirements

Primary Skill: Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, Oozie, Yarn, Sqoop, Flume, Hue) Secondary Skill: Spark Tertiary Skill: Python Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, or similar. 6+ years of hands?on experience developing, running, and troubleshooting Hadoop and big data applications. Proficient in scripting (Unix Shell, Perl scripting). Experience with job scheduling tools like Autosys JIL scripting. Strong troubleshooting skills for data?related issues in large?scale environments. Experience processing structured and unstructured data with frameworks like MapReduce. SQL expertise for data extraction, transformation, and database operations. Familiarity with data movement, transformation, and integration technologies. Knowledge of the end?to?end data architecture, including upstream/downstream processes, data distribution, and database models is a plus. Experience working with Kafka, Pig, Hive, and related tools.
