Job Overview The Manager, FP&A is responsible for the administration of company-wide financial planning process and model, including support for all functional managers. They are responsible for creating and maintaining the financial reports that are used to guide the company in decisions that are pertinent to the company’s financial success. They will interact with all levels of management as well as with outside auditors.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Administration of company-wide financial planning process and model, including support for all functional managers. Maintenance of the company’s five-year financial projection model, including related sensitivity analyses.
Manage two staff analysts who focus on revenue, COGS and inventory valuation.
Preparation of periodic management reports, including budget vs actual and sales analysis.
Design, implementation, and administration of a process to develop and track ROI of R&D projects.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, month-end close activities, variance analysis and financial reporting package - including operating expenses, Capex, and headcount.
Drive process improvements using reporting and planning tools.
Process cost center creation and changes, movement of cost center hierarchies.
Preparation and management of periodic and ad hoc reporting to private equity investors.
Monitor expense and headcount plan vs actual, and provide analysis/recommendation for business partners and Finance team.
Support senior management on strategic initiatives.
Support monthly accounting closing process.
Required Skills/Abilities
Detail oriented and ability to produce work with a high degree of accuracy.
Solid understanding of forecasting/budget accrual concepts.
In depth experience creating and managing financial models.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and with senior management.
Ability to plan, appropriately prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Openness in addressing and resolving business issues as they arise.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
7+ years’ experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial strategy/operations, financial reporting or closely related field.
Experience in the manufacturing industry a plus.
Experience managing multiple team members.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
