Ports & Maritime Civil Engineer

in Houston, TX, you will be a part of a global team of more than 550 maritime experts. You’ll be involved with design, analysis, and delivery of projects ranging from local waterfront projects to large‑scale port developments. We’ll rely on you to provide support to our teams on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion as you bring fresh ideas to the table. You will be given the opportunity to work with clients and sub‑consultants and give technical presentations, as necessary. Key Responsibilities

Coordinate or assist in the preparation of civil calculation/designs, contract drawings and specifications, field inspections, engineering reports, and construction field reports.

Provide support to our teams on critical projects and foster a culture of continuous learning and inclusion.

Assist in the design of new and rehabilitation of existing marine facilities.

Work with clients and sub‑consultants and present technical findings as required.

What You’ll Need

5–10 years of progressive experience as a Civil Engineer with design of back‑land facilities for marine terminals.

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related ABET‑accredited field.

Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within one year.

Working knowledge of grading, water distribution, sanitary systems, stormwater conveyance, jointed reinforced concrete, and rail design for marine terminals.

Experience preparing construction drawings and specifications.

Experience in site civil development for container, bulk material handling, and liquid bulk terminals.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and small projects independently.

Ability to travel occasionally for site visits and inspections.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

Master of Science in Civil Engineering.

Experience designing back‑land facilities for marine terminals.

Experience working with port authorities and private terminal companies.

Capability to produce civil details in AutoCAD/MicroStation and coordinate with senior CAD operators.

Experience with project quantities, cost estimation, technical memorandums, and reports.
