Job Description We are seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to manage and oversee transportation and infrastructure projects across Nebraska and other potential areas. This role will allow you to lead project delivery from planning through closeout while supervising field inspectors and technicians. It’s a great opportunity to combine technical expertise with leadership, client interaction, and project management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Lead construction engineering projects from scope development through preconstruction, active construction, and final closeout
Supervise and coordinate field staff including inspectors and materials testing technicians
Ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with federal, state, and local standards
Conduct site visits and provide on‑the‑ground project support in varying terrain and weather conditions
Prepare and manage documentation and reports for project stakeholders
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (required)
5+ years of experience in construction engineering for roadway and bridge projects
Federal‑aid project experience and strong knowledge of AASHTOWARE Project software
Experience with municipal projects (water, sanitary, storm sewer)
Ability and willingness to travel for projects
