Base pay range $21.00/hr - $24.00/hr
Position Function Multiple levels available based on experience. Universal Bankers perform sales, servicing, and operational functions in a branch. Duties include managing an assigned portfolio of High Value Clients (HVC) to build and retain customer relationships, identifying potential customer banking needs, cross‑selling products, refering customers to specialists, and meeting assigned operational, cross‑sale and referral goals. Universal Bankers open all types of consumer and business deposit and loan products; accept and close secured and unsecured consumer loan and personal lines of credit applications. They are also certified to accept and close home equity lines of credit and loans. All duties and interactions with internal and external customers are conducted in alignment with the Company's Core Values of a “Voyaging Spirit” and “Positively Ohana”. Competencies include active listening, effective oral and written communication, action orientation, solution‑oriented mindset, and thoroughness.
Sales/Servicing
Accepts secured and unsecured consumer loan and personal lines of credit applications and opens all types of consumer and business deposit products and related services.
Profiles customers while opening or servicing deposit accounts to determine needs.
Actively participates in customer retention programs to build and retain relationships and identify new opportunities.
Manages a portfolio of HVC customers to build and retain relationships.
Analyzes tax returns and financial statements.
Participates in branch or bank‑wide campaigns.
Actively cross‑sells and refers customers to the appropriate business partners.
Achieves all individual/branch goals as assigned, including deposit, loan, and portfolio growth goals; revenue and risk management targets.
Operational Effectiveness and Service Delivery
Manages risk and takes prompt action in event of loss or irregularities in transaction documents, accounts, or company assets.
Processes various transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, cash advances, U.S. Savings Bond applications/redemptions, check cashing, placing stops, cautions, holds, foreign currency exchange with minimal errors, and balances teller cash daily.
Purchases and sells cash to/from vault and assists in the replenishment of cash dispensers.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university; relevant work experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Experience Requirements
1+ year(s) of demonstrated success in sales and customer service.
1+ year(s) of branch operations experience or successful completion of teller and new‑account certification within 6 months of hire.
2+ years of branch/bank operations experience and sales of retail financial products.
1+ year(s) of experience explaining credit products, accepting/closing consumer and business loan applications.
Licenses and Certifications
Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) is required prior to performing any duties of a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO), if applicable.
Notary Public commission preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Must be able to move and lift items up to 20 lbs and perform other light physical work.
Must be able to operate standard office equipment, including phone, personal computer, copier, etc.
Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers.
Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
Must be able to read and understand bank‑related documents.
Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time.
Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
