Structural Fitter/Welder – Shipyard (Field Traveling Position) Description
We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our shipyard team in a Field Traveling capacity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components for marine vessels, both onsite and at various field locations as needed, ensuring all welds meet industry standards for strength and safety. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in a range of welding techniques, and strict adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements. Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on steel and other metals used in ship construction and repair in the field and at the shipyard. Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance with safety regulations. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and industrial teams to support shipyard and field operations. Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring proper operation and safety. Follow company policies and OSHA safety guidelines at all times. Overview (Additional)
Lays out, fits, aligns, and assembles prefabricated cast and forged components prior to welding, soldering, brazing, or bonding operations. Performs fitting and machining operations such as straighten, grind, burr, drill, ream, and countersink materials to close tolerances. Refers to general instructions to select equipment, set up, and lay out materials to be welded. May repair or rework parts to restore to required tolerances which have become distorted as a result of welding operations. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Skills

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
