Overview ESAero is seeking a self‑motivated Associate Mechanical Engineer to assist in the multifunctional product development of new aircraft design and manufacturing, collaborating across engineering disciplines and project personnel.
Responsibilities and Duties
Create or modify 3‑D models and detailed drawings to design mechanical components and assemblies
Conduct basic structural or thermal analysis of structures and systems
Support the creation of system requirements, trade studies, sub‑component and test plans
Develop engineering development work orders, build guides and travelers
Collaborate with machinists, technicians, and manufacturing engineers to iterate quickly
Support the development, test, verification, and validation of mechanical systems
Utilize PDM for revision and configuration control
Participate in design reviews
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree – Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
0–2 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent)
SolidWorks CAD and drawing experience (or similar)
Hands‑on experience working with tools and assemblies
Good understanding of structures, mechanisms, system layout, and materials
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong writing skills
US citizenship required
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
Understanding of other disciplines including stress, dynamics, thermal analysis, production, electronics, systems engineering, etc.
Experience with composite design and layup
Experience with DFM/A
Experience with a gated design process/workflow
