Role Electrical Engineer

Sector: Food Manufacturing (non-meat)

Location: Suffolk

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £41,637 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday – Days

iSQ Recruitment is seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer / Electrician to join a long-established food manufacturing site in Suffolk (non-meat). Working alongside a small and supportive team, you’ll take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and small project delivery. This is a hands-on, site-based role supporting a busy production environment where reliability, precision, and safety are key. You’ll play an integral part in maintaining and improving a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment that keep the site operating efficiently.

This client does not offer Visa sponsorship. Only candidates with full Right to Work in the UK, a full UK driving licence / own vehicle, and relevant experience will be considered.

Typically Monday to Friday days (40-hour week).

Key Responsibilities

Carry out electrical servicing, repairs, and maintenance across a diverse range of plant and equipment.

Conduct fault finding, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance tasks to minimise breakdowns.

Work confidently with electrical drawings, schematics, and symbols.

Support and manage small-scale electrical projects from design through to installation and commissioning.

Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical and safety standards.

Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and implement improvements.

About You

You’ll be an experienced Electrical Engineer or Industrial Electrician with:

A recognised electrical apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).

18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.

Strong fault-finding and analytical skills with a logical approach to problem solving.

Experience working with PLCs, VSDs, soft starts, sensors, weighing equipment, and general process control systems.

A solid understanding of preventative maintenance practices and production plant operations.

The ability to work independently and manage small-scale improvement projects.

Flexibility to be on call every other week.

Full UK driving license & access to own car.

Full Right to Work in the UK.

Desirable Skills

Familiarity with Mitsubishi or Siemens PLCs and software.

A multi-skilled background with mechanical or pneumatics knowledge.

Inspection and testing qualifications (2391 or equivalent).

Previous experience maintaining machinery in a food or process manufacturing environment.
