Summary/Objective

Provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts; preparing financial statements.

Essential Functions

Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and departments.

Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data.

Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.

Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.

Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.

Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.

Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

Provides accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information; converting data to general ledger system; obtaining supplementary information for preparing financial statements.

Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Assists with response to SOX internal and external audit requests.

Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Performs projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certifications And Licensure

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

General ledger application experience preferred.

Understanding of accounting principles, GAAP.

Knowledgeable with SEC reporting requirements and consolidation accounting.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Skill to analyze data and provide recommendations.

Excellent written and oral communication.

Must be able to work independently, prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines.

Travel

This position may require up to 10 percent out of area and overnight travel.

Travel is primarily local occurring during the business day only.

Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The duties associated with this position are generally performed in an indoor office setting.

Equipment used includes computer, fax, copier, merchant terminal, multi-line phone system.

Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift to 25 pounds.

This position may also be exposed to chemicals and/or blood borne pathogens. Exposure risk is considered: Low.

Overtime is sometimes necessary or required.
