Full Time Faculty - Earth Science (Tenure Track, Fall 2026) The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. We prepare students for a lifelong passion for learning on our 273‑acre campus which is home to nine associate degrees and a wide variety of professional and technical certificates. Many of these credentials prepare students to seamlessly articulate into the baccalaureate programs of our higher education partner institutions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: College of DuPage seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track faculty member to teach Earth Science courses starting in August 2026. Candidates should have a strong background in meteorology and be prepared to teach a variety of courses such as introductory meteorology, introductory and advanced forecasting, severe weather, and aviation meteorology. There may also be opportunities to teach oceanography courses (dependent on candidate background). Preference will be given to candidates with experience using COD's NEXLAB website and products, proficiency in programming with Python, and/or experience leading storm‑chasing field‑study courses. Faculty duties include classroom instruction, assessment, curriculum development, advising students, professional inquiry, committee work and engaging with instructional technology.

Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face‑to‑face, online, hybrid and/or blended formats during days, evenings and weekends. Faculty positions may not be fully remote.

Qualifications:

A master's degree in the discipline or a related discipline to be taught; or, a master's degree plus 18 graduate hours in the discipline to be taught. Additionally, faculty should have evidence of graduate‑level coursework (or significant professional experience) relating directly to the content being taught in the specific course or subfield.

Teaching experience in Higher Education required.
