Overview
The Palmer House, a Hilton Hotel, is looking for a Stewarding Supervisor to join the team. The hotel is a Chicago landmark with 1,641 rooms, a rustic restaurant and Chicago-inspired burger bar, an elegant lobby bar, a spa, an indoor pool, a sauna, a fitness center and 7 ornate ballrooms. A Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of 30-35 people to transport and clean cooking utensils and service ware.
Responsibilities
Supervise, support and monitor utility stewards, dishwashers and temporary personnel to transport and clean cooking utensils and service ware for restaurant service
Supervise cleaning of work area and physical surroundings
Maintain and deliver proper inventory for food and beverage departments
Ensure all food and equipment are delivered on time to all functions as specified
Schedule, assign daily work, inform and train team members
Monitor, observe and assist in evaluating team member performance
What we’re looking for Ideal candidates have a stewarding, culinary, or housekeeping background in a hotel setting and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Lead or supervisory experience is highly preferred.
Qualifications
Shift Pattern: Open availability to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays
Pay Rate: $21.23 per hour, based on applicable and specialized experience and location
Relevant experience in stewarding or related hotel operations
Strong leadership and communication skills
