You will lead the detailed mechanical design and execution of complex projects, with a strong focus on the Pharma/Biotech/Life Science industry. This role leverages 8+ years of experience and Subject Matter Expertise in critical systems (like HVAC and Clean Utilities) to drive projects from conceptual design through construction administration. Responsibilities

Support other engineers or project managers as needed.

Research applicable industry standards, conduct engineering studies, analyze systems, and develop preliminary and detailed designs.

Develop engineering specifications and review the work of the project design team.

Monitor progress, alert managers to changes in scope, and coordinate project document completion.

Direct CAD designers and other engineers in the preparation of construction drawings.

Interpret applicable codes and work with code officials when interpretations or exceptions are required.

Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

PE License is preferred.

Minimum of eight (8) years of mechanical design experience creating construction documents for a wide range of projects.

Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting projects within the Pharma/Biotech/Life Science industry.

Subject Matter Expert in non-Critical, critical, and GMP critical Mechanical Systems (HVAC, Clean Utilities, Black Utilities, Pressure Vessels, Fire Suppression).

Experience with field surveys to document existing building conditions.

Ability to perform cooling/heating load calculations, ventilation calculations (VRP), COMcheck calculations, and energy modeling.

Capability to perform ductwork and piping pressure drop calculations and layouts.

Ability to interpret Building and Fire Codes and work with code officials.

Experience providing equipment selections and specifications for mechanical equipment (air devices, chillers, boilers, pumps, fans, AHUs, valves, etc.) and related construction administration support.

Ability to determine appropriate system types and provide advanced control sequences.

Software Experience

Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Familiarity with calculation software such as Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, and COMcheck.

Revit and/or AutoCAD experience is a plus (open drawings, edit text, print).

Compensation And Benefits

Pay: $120,000 - $155,000 annually (based upon experience).

Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable).
