Construction Safety Specialist

The Construction Safety Specialist will provide EHS support to projects by offering guidance on safe practices during the planning and execution phases. This individual will be responsible for conducting job safety walks, performing field audits, and enforcing a safe and healthy work environment. The Construction Safety Specialist will serve as the focal point for contractors and tradespeople on site, promoting and encouraging a strong safety culture.
What You’ll Do
Manage multiple construction projects through design, build, and qualification
Provide field safety oversight of construction work activities
Conduct project walks focused on work safe practices and conduct coaching conversations with employees when corrections are required
Review high hazard work prior to execution to include critical lifts, confined space entries, high voltage work, pressure testing, fall protection plans, etc.
Participate in project kick‑off meetings and analyze EHS site‑specific expectations
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal health and safety regulations
Perform frequent combined safety and environmental inspections and procedural audits in the field and take immediate corrective action if required
What You’ll Bring
2+ years of experience in building high‑tech infrastructure and operational facilities, including automotive, tool/equipment installation, semiconductor, solar, and battery industries
Background in electrical, mechanical and process plumbing systems, and heavy civil
Working knowledge of OSHA, UBC, ISO, ANSI, RIA, NFPA, GB, codes
Experience working with numerous city, county, state, and federal permitting authorities
CSP or CHST preferred
Ability to multi‑task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast‑paced and changing environment
Strong communication skills to clearly interface with team members
