Software Engineer (GMD Weapon System)
Full-Time with an ESOP
| Contractor | Onsite in Huntsville, AL
Schedule: 9x80 (Every Other Friday Off) | Position is off-post, not Redstone Arsenal
Overview Experienced DoD Software Engineer to support MDA's GMD Weapon System (GWS) program on the SPA team. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and be responsible for developing software products that directly support the design and development of GMD's capabilities.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain software applications using GoLang, C++, and other modern programming languages
Read and interpret code in C, Ada, and Python to support integration and legacy systems
Create and maintain unit tests and system-level tests to ensure robust software performance
Support simulation development and utilize simulation frameworks for weapon system analysis
Build data reduction tools and SQL-based analytics for post-mission evaluation
Use Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Bamboo, Fortify, and Coverity as part of the DevOps lifecycle
Develop and deploy containerized applications in a collaborative, agile environment
Work within a classified DoD environment supporting national defense objectives
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Active Secret Clearance is required
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field from an accredited university
Software development experience with GoLang or C++
Experience with C, Ada, and/or Python
Ability to read other software languages
Experience creating unit and system tests
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs (Preferably Ground-Based Midcourse Defense)
Experience with simulation and simulation frameworks
Experience with data reduction tool development
Experience with SQL Databases
Experience with Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket
Experience with Bamboo, Jenkins, Fortify, Coverity, SQL Databases
Experience with containers and container development
