Timber Frame Manager – South East England (field-based with regular office visits) – Circa £45k + Vehicle and Full Package Responsibilities
Source and manage reliable shell erection teams; obtain competitive quotes and maintain proof of contractor liability insurance. Set up and enforce site Health & Safety arrangements, including scaffolding, slab protection, and crane lift plans. Carry out operative inductions and ensure all required documentation is completed before work starts. Conduct regular site visits to monitor erection progress and provide concise weekly status updates. Maintain and enforce company quality standards; give clear direction to sub-contractors and check their workmanship. Attend site meetings, record progress and any programme variances, and circulate written updates to all stakeholders. Liaise frequently with builders and customers to manage expectations and resolve issues promptly. Organise pre-delivery coordination meetings with project stakeholders at least two weeks before shell erection. Arrange and lead a near-completion review with the erection team to agree snagging items, then coordinate final handover meetings and produce a detailed handover report. Coordinate with estimating or scheduling teams on window and door fitting timetables; verify apertures on site and ensure scaffold adjustments or access are in place for deliveries. Maintain regular contact with the office team to ensure smooth project delivery and record-keeping. Candidate Profile
Hands-on experience with timber frame installation or proven site-based project management experience. Ability to lead, motivate and manage operative and subcontractor teams on site. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident producing clear reports and progress updates. Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-moving environment; adaptable to changing site conditions. Organised approach to planning labour, deliveries, plant requirements, and programme variances. Full UK driving licence essential. Package
