Job Description

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Supply Officer to join our Procurement Department based in Mobile, Alabama. The Supply Officer I is responsible for managing the flow of materials to the facility, as the first point of contact for Logistics on ordering, planning and logistical issues related to direct ordered material. They are responsible for a portfolio of suppliers, managing operational demand, ensuring requirements are communicated to both the Supplier and Customer. Meet the Team

Your Challenges

Forecast/Call up / Order and VMI Management (50%) Place Purchase Orders according to the Purchase Request, identify disturbances in the Supply chain and contribute to related process improvements. Ensure contract terms with suppliers are met. End-to-End management of Purchase Orders.

Actively manage material flows to ensure on-time, quality, and cost-efficient delivery, initiating corrective actions as needed.

Perform material planning and ordering for free stock, flying consumables and safety stock.

Define and maintain supply related contractual data in Logistics Conditions within standard policies and contractual requirements.

Analyse MRP and Supply External Product exception messages.

Manage purchase orders and forecasts sent to suppliers, including collaboration processes.

Manage on-time delivery (OTD) collaboration process and initiate proactive actions.

Collaborate with suppliers transnationally and assist the Supply Chain Quality Manager and Commercial Buyer.

Manage reordering tasks after rejection, scraps/damages and collaborate in the secondary flow.

Customer protection (20%) Ensure product qualification prerequisites are in line before launching the ordering.

Lead actions to reduce missing parts and late deliveries: early warning, risk management, follow-up deliveries and mitigation actions.

Act as focal point for the logistic service provider and on-site supplier support.

Continuous Improvement (10%) Monitor supply chain performance through KPIs (ordering measures, missing parts, OTD, stock KPIs, VMI LOS).

Conduct root cause analysis and monitor supplier problem-solving activities.

Participate in supplier performance reviews and provide feedback.

Contribute to A320 FAL Mobile primary and secondary flow optimization (10%) Support operations related to rework/concession parts supply and organize returns and invoices for direct ordered material.

Coordinate reassignment of aircraft parts and related documentation.

Stock optimization (5%) Monitor inventory levels and stock turns against targets.

Define optimal logistics and ordering solutions (safety stock, reorder point, batch size, demand volatility).

Manage non-movers/slow movers.

New Product Introduction (5%) Facilitate introduction of new products or modifications, coordinating with suppliers for logistics and ordering solutions.

Your Boarding Pass

Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.

2+ years of related experience in supply chain management.

Ability to travel 5% domestically and internationally.

Analytical skills within Supply Chain functions.

Knowledge of common applications such as SAP/R3.

Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.

Proficient in Google Suite applications.

Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers and external suppliers.

Ability to drive and challenge supplier performance.

Physical Requirements

Hearing: able to participate in conversations and hear on the production floor daily

Speaking: able to communicate daily

Equipment operation: use of office equipment and some production tools daily

Carrying/Lifting: up to 30lbs/14kg

Pushing/Pulling: capable of moving light equipment

Sitting: long periods in meetings and at computer

Squatting/Kneeling: retrieve items from low shelving

Standing: weekly discussions on production floor

Travel: monthly travel as needed

Walking: able to traverse office and production areas daily

Personal Protective Equipment: PPE as required by site

Administrative PPE: steel-toed shoes for shop floor visits
