LAUSD (SFV, South LA, South Gate, Huntington Park, West LA/Westwood), Garvey Elementary School District (Rosemead/San Gabriel/Monterey Park), Green Dot Public Schools (LA), Inner City Education Foundation (View Park), Aspire Public Schools, Brightstar Schools, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, Lennox School District (Lennox), Pomona Unified School District (Pomona) and Claremont Unified School District (Claremont).

Who We Are Woodcraft Rangers opened its doors in Los Angeles in 1922 with a mission of guiding young people as they explore pathways to purposeful lives. The organization focuses on inclusivity, youth leadership, and a holistic framework known as the Woodcraft Way, developing body, mind, spirit, and service. Woodcraft Rangers provides expanded learning opportunities and serves more than 20,000 youth annually in and from 110+ Title I schools across LA County.
What We Do Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, enrichment, and summer learning. Programs have expanded to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Lifecraft supports college and career advancement for approximately 1,000 staff.
Job Summary Club Leaders are responsible for ensuring a fun and positive learning environment for club participants and will support clubs of approximately 20 children. Roles include a site coordinator and a community liaison; staff can work at school sites, sleepaway camp, or both.
The Club Leader position is an on-site position, including training at the Woodcraft Rangers main office in Little Tokyo and school sites.
Role Overview
Ensure students are in a safe environment (physically and emotionally). Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity for all program participants, staff, and families
Develop and lead age-appropriate program activities that are FUN, engaging and aligned with whole-child approach (social emotional learning, skill building, self-esteem, leadership, etc.). WR has an activity catalog to support the development of activity plans
Monitor participant attendance and engagement to ensure participants are present and actively engaged in program activities
Build positive relationships with program participants, colleagues, and all stakeholders
Collaborate with colleagues and supervisor to develop culminating activities or events that showcase all participants' work and accomplishments
Request required materials in a timely manner so Site Coordinator can ensure materials are available when needed and within budget
Comply with all applicable safety requirements and emergency protocols, including being up to date on trainings and required certifications
May be required to attend off-site field trips
Maintain and submit student attendance daily
Participate in staff development trainings as required, approximately 15 hours spread over multiple weekends/intersessional days in spring
Club Leaders are accountable to the Site Coordinator and Program Manager for assigned duties

Ideal Candidate Ideally, we are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, energetic, ambitious, proactive, and positive, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Multitasking and attention to detail are strengths. Individuals should be comfortable presenting and speaking in front of staff and peers during in-person training.
Requirements
Knowledge and experience working in expanded learning programs or youth recreational facilities
Minimum High School Diploma or GED (AA Degree in Child Development or a related field preferred); prior experience working with groups of K-12 students in an academic or recreational setting preferred
Work well with young children and/or youth
Good oral and written communication
Computer literacy and willingness to learn
Valid LIVE Scan, TB Clearance, and CPR Certification
Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling
