We are currently seeking a

Student Accounts Specialist

to join our team. The Student Account Specialist is assigned to the day‑to‑day technical duties in addition to awarding Title IV aid. Positions in this classification are paraprofessional and require a high level of technical knowledge of financial aid programs and procedures to independently assist campuses and other professionals over the phone and through written and electronic correspondence. The role requires the ability to work with a sense of urgency, analyze financial aid application data, exercise professional judgment in reviewing applications, verification, awarding Title IV aid, and tracking and processing Return‑to‑Title IV calculations for students. All application and verification work must be performed accurately and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities

Complies with all Federal, State, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures.

Achieves compliance as established by accrediting agencies, state entities and current established company targets.

Reviews, evaluates and audits applications for federal financial aid for quality control purposes.

Assists in the intake and scanning of confidential data for state and federal reports, including student and parent confidential tax and income information.

Validates student financial aid application data to calculate award eligibility and certify federal and private student loans.

Maintains knowledge of Title IV awarding and cash management rules and regulations.

Prepares the R2T4 calculations for all withdrawn students.

Achieves a consistent accuracy in R2T4 calculations.

Maintains and coordinates award and quality assurance reports.

Maintains the company’s administrative requirements for student financial aid and separation of duties compliance requirements for state and federal student financial aid.

Maintains knowledge of the College’s refund policies.

Ensures ethical and accurate documentation and record‑keeping which meets all company and regulatory agency standards.

Prepares statistical and tracking reports as requested by IEC management.

Provides training and support as requested in all areas relating to Title IV awarding and disbursement.

Monitors the work of others and assists with training teams on file review, awarding and certifying federal loans.

Posts Title IV funds to account ledger and cash disbursement rosters.

Provides exceptional customer service and responds to inquiries from campuses.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive in the United States.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

At least three years of experience serving as a financial aid specialist, compliance auditor, associate director of financial aid or comparable position.

Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience working as a Financial Aid Specialist, Default Prevention Specialist or Financial Planning Analyst.

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in business, finance, auditing or accounting.

Excellent customer service, oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

Efficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel is required.

English will be the primary language used; bilingual abilities useful but not required.

Ability to meet deadlines and execute multiple priorities.
