Overview

Aircraft Assembly Electrical Mechanics (Level B or C) – Boeing, North Charleston, South Carolina. This is a 100% onsite position with a variable shift. The role supports the 787 production system in a dynamic manufacturing environment and requires use of prior experience and training to complete daily tasks in compliance with safety and quality standards. Primary Responsibilities

Must have the ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications. Adhere to high standards of safety and quality. Comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Ensure work conforms to engineering drawings and specifications, with First Pass Quality (FPQ) and no Foreign Object Debris. Use computers and software applications in a production environment. Read and comprehend technical work instructions, drawings, and specifications. Wear required protective clothing/equipment for the task. Operate various mechanical lifts (e.g., ladders, scissor lifts, aerial lifts). Use chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and finishes. Be able to climb/balance, crawl/crouch, and perform physical movements as required. Work around energized sources and potential exposure to constant noise. Read from computer screens, printed drawings or documents. Carry and lift up to 35 pounds. Perform wiring tasks: route harnesses, build connectors, splice wires, crimp, and terminate wires; install connectors to receptacles and electronic components. Perform repairs and rework per engineering instructions. Perform fiber optic cleaning/inspection, light loss testing, routing and installation. Perform Bond & Ground operations and resistance testing. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Ability to work a variable shift. Ability to meet physical demands (flexion/extension, handling, kneeling, bending, reaching overhead, climbing, standing, walking). Carry/lift up to 10-35 pounds. Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals. 6+ months experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications. 6+ months experience reading and following detailed work instructions, blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English. 6+ months experience with basic hand, power, and pneumatic tools. 6+ months experience with wiring design drawings, system interconnects, wire routing and equipment installation drawings. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

3+ years of related work experience or equivalent education/experience. Completion of degree or certification from a trade school and/or A&P license. 3+ years in aerospace/manufacturing with wire routing, dressing, hook-up/mating connections. 3+ years in aerospace/manufacturing with wire resistance/continuity checks. 3+ years in aerospace/manufacturing with wire rework (repair, rerouting, connector disconnect, pin removal/install). 3+ years in aerospace/manufacturing with wire connections; splicing, soldering, and heat shrink. 3+ years in aerospace/manufacturing with connector build up.
