Mercy Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a state-of-the-art, family-focused unit that provides advanced care for patients with life‑threatening illnesses or organ failure. The multidisciplinary team delivers continuous monitoring and life‑sustaining treatments, including procedures such as intubation, TTM, CRRT, bronchoscopy, ICP monitoring, organ donation, and post‑operative care. As an RN Resident on this unit, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send‑off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Final compensation will consider experience, skill set, education and may include shift differentials, overtime, and benefits. Shift Details

Caregivers work nights from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements. Responsibilities

Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs. Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach. Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability). Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk. Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently. Document in patients’ medical records. Minimum Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program). Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. New grad RN or less than one year of RN work experience. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN). Physical Requirements

Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients. Manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Work under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work – exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demands exceed those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment

Follow Standard Precautions using PPE as required for procedures.
