Overview Comptroller

Direct Hire | Onsite | Reports to Company President

Vaco Staffing is seeking an experienced

Comptroller

to serve as the top financial executive for a growing organization. This position reports directly to the

Company President

and oversees all aspects of the company's financial operations - including

treasury management, planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and funding strategies

- while leading a high-performing team of 3 direct and 10 indirect reports.

The

Comptroller

will act as a key strategic advisor to ownership, ensuring

financial readiness, operational efficiency, and data integrity

across the business. This role will play a pivotal part in

driving accountability, improving processes, and leveraging analytics

to support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury Management

Oversee daily cash position, ACHs, wires, and fraud prevention protocols

Manage all loans, lines of credit, and related funding and paydowns

Financial Reporting & Compliance

Prepare and present financial statements and tax returns to ownership and lenders

Coordinate annual external audits and prepare supporting tax schedules

General Ledger Oversight

Review and maintain balance sheet, cash, and loan accounts

Supervise AR/AP managers, payroll, prepaids, deposits, merchant services, loss prevention, unbilled revenue, COGS, and tax accruals

Maintain and optimize the accounting system (Business Central) for accuracy and efficiency

Cross-Department Collaboration

Partner with executive leadership, IT, HR, and legal teams on financial and operational initiatives

Support IT and software development projects to enhance financial systems and reporting processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

CPA or CMA certification (preferred)

7+ years expereince of proven financial and managerial expertise with demonstrated leadership ability

In-depth understanding of GAAP and relevant federal, state, and local financial regulations

Hands-on, "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach with strong service orientation

Experience with project management and software implementation

Familiarity with systems such as Business Central, Concur, TriumphPay, Highway, Paylocity, Synergize, and Power BI is a major plus
