Job Description
Eurofins Donor & Product Testing is looking for a clinical laboratory technologist to assist with providing comprehensive laboratory services to meet the unique testing needs of the transplant community. Our clinical labs perform microbiology testing to determine microbial cleanliness, infectious disease and donor eligibility testing, as well as Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) testing to successfully match organ transplant recipients with compatible donors. Technologist I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
Follow prescribed procedures, performing any of the tests within any of the laboratory specialties. Calculate the results of the tests performed as necessary.
Operate, calibrate, conduct performance checks, and maintain laboratory analyzers or equipment.
Recognize and correct basic analyzer malfunctions and notify management personnel when appropriate.
Prepare reagents or media from a prescribed procedure.
Evaluate media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteria.
Conduct established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products.
Evaluate results of quality control and implement corrective action when indicated.
Determine performance specifications for new methods.
Confirm and verify results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzers.
Monitor quality assurance/continuous improvement programs.
Monitor safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulations.
Utilize laboratory information systems or other methods to accurately and effectively report patient results.
Write laboratory procedures conforming to standardized format.
Report test results conforming to established procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Ideal Candidate
Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology.
Knowledge of the principles of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as related to medical technology.
Some knowledge of recent developments in the field of medical technology.
Ability to instruct subordinate technologists in areas of medical laboratory testing.
Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures and to make accurate observations and records of test results.
Skill in the use of medical laboratory equipment.
Analytical thinking and communication skills.
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
Compensation
$20.00–$23.50 per hour
Schedule
Regular schedule: Wednesday–Sunday 4:00 pm–2:30 am
Training schedule: Wednesday–Sunday 8:00 am–6:30 pm
