The Department of Surgery at Duke University Medical Center is seeking a fellowship‑trained, BC/BE Colorectal Surgeon to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have skill and enthusiasm for minimally invasive colorectal surgery and will want to participate in clinical research and the education of medical students, NP/PA residents, General Surgery residents and specialty fellows.
Responsibilities
The section currently consists of seven colorectal surgeons enjoying the full breadth of our specialty service. Our group includes a robust team of Advanced Practice Providers.
Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, and the Durham VA provide a high volume of complex open and MIS abdominal surgery as well as tremendous untapped potential for expansion in colonoscopy, benign anorectal, and pelvic floor practice.
This is a busy practice in colon and rectal cancer working closely with colleagues in GI, medical oncology and radiation therapy.
The position is strictly colorectal surgery and call is shared among the colorectal surgeons. Each operating site is equipped with full robotic and invasive approach operations. We enjoy access to 3 free standing surgery centers within close radius of main campus.
The Duke Cancer Institute, Duke Regional, and Duke Raleigh centers provide comprehensive cancer multidisciplinary clinics and research opportunities.
Duke Digestive Disease Program is a joint effort of colorectal surgery and IBD GI specialists specifically collaborating around this patient population.
Qualifications
Fellowship-trained, Board Certified/Board Eligible Colorectal Surgeon.
Experience in minimally invasive colorectal surgery.
Exemplary clinical, research, and teaching record.
Strong commitment to academic excellence and clinical productivity.
Compensation and Benefits Salary and rank will be commensurate with training and experience. The department offers a generous compensation plan that rewards clinical productivity and academic excellence.
