Position Overview
This person will be the primary point of contact for the development and growth of our business surrounding our various Polo and Lauren brands for all families of business in their store(s) or territory. They will focus on developing relationships with key wholesale partners to execute company strategies while maintaining connectivity to Sales Partners, Brand Image, and other internal partners to ensure we present our Ralph Lauren brands in an evolved and elevated manner. They must balance driving brand elevation, leveraging partnerships to maximize growth opportunities, collaborating with sales to determine the focus for each visit/store, and the creativity of merchandising the sales floor to meet those needs.
60% - In-Store Presentation; 30% - Driving the business/communication; 10% - Coaching/Training
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Business Acumen/Communication:
Clearly understand and articulate the state of the business, including annual volume, in-season trends, best sellers/underperformers, and communicate wins and opportunities. Send business recaps covering sales trends, product needs, customer feedback, competitive landscape, to identify learnings, best performers and opportunities with accounts and internal partners and leadership. Communicate business needs with Store Management, RL Sales Partners, and Retail Development leadership to identify immediate and ongoing opportunities from store visits. Build and maintain strong account/store partnerships and relationships through ongoing collaboration with management, personal shopping and sales teams. Execute strategies outlined by sales leads and leadership to drive sales growth and profitability.
In-Store Presentation:
Create strong, well-balanced merchandise statements aligned with Ralph Lauren strategies and guidelines, including compelling rigging from curated looks. Execute floor moves based on seasonal directives, incoming receipts and adjust as needed based on business trends. Walk each respective family of business weekly, make productive assessments and act in a timely manner. Ensure the store maintains high maintenance standards and timely processing of new inventory for the floor, price changes and markdowns. Ensure the stockroom is organized for easy product replenishment.
Coaching / Training / Partnership:
Conduct monthly product and selling seminars to inform the sales team about the RL brand, with the goal of improving regular priced selling while keeping the customer at the center. Maintain full staffing levels and move quickly to fill open roles and participate in the selection/interviewing process. Partner with in-store teams to assess staff quality using sales/productivity metrics as available. Provide and demonstrate elevated selling and customer engagement techniques. Inspire and engage with the Saks sales team and management to ensure they are equipped with information needed to drive sales performance. Provide ongoing hands-on training on topics such as: inspiring the team about new deliveries, key styles/programs, and in-depth product knowledge about all aspects of the brand.
