The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) seeks a dynamic, collaborative leader to serve as the Dean of Career Education. The School of Career Education serves students who are seeking associate degrees, undergraduate certificates, occupational endorsements, and workforce credentials. The dean will serve as the senior administrative officer for the School of Career Education, providing strategic oversight for the academic unit, supervising faculty and staff, and working collaboratively with university and community partners. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of career and technical education in Southeast Alaska, making a meaningful impact on students and the community.
About the University of Alaska Southeast UAS is located in the traditional territory of the Lingít, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples, a majestic array of islands, channels, fjords, coastal mountains, icefields, and glaciers. On our three campuses in Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka, students have opportunities for field study, research, creative production, and internships in the Tongass National Forest, in marine and freshwater environments, with local businesses, and within tribal, federal, and state governmental entities. The university is also proud to be the home of Alaska Native Studies, which includes the languages, culture, and art of the Indigenous Peoples of Southeast Alaska.

Excellent leadership skills
Appropriate levels of education, training, and relevant experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with university, community, and industry partners
Experience in higher education administration is a plus but not required
