Overview
Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
is responsible for overseeing the financial health of our service lines, ensuring sound fiscal management, and supporting the agency's growth and sustainability. The CFO will lead financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and the development of strategic financial plans that align with the organization's goals. This position will collaborate closely with executive leadership, department heads, and external partners to drive financial performance and support RVNAHealth's mission. Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage the agency's annual budget, long-term financial plans, and forecasting. Monitor and assess budget performance, providing comprehensive reports to the CEO and Board of Directors. Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for improving profitability, cost-effectiveness, and overall financial health. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the Executive Director/CEO and Board of Directors. Ensure all financial reports adhere to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to financial reporting and audits within the home care industry. Manage the timely submission of tax filings, financial reports, and other required regulatory documents. Maintain strong relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth audits and inspections. Cash Flow Management
Monitor daily cash flow to ensure adequate resources are available for operational needs. Oversee patient billing, insurance reimbursements, and other revenue streams to optimize cash flow. Review and streamline accounts payable and receivable processes to reduce aged accounts and improve cash flow efficiency. Identify areas of inefficiency and recommend cost-saving initiatives that maintain quality patient care. Track operational expenses, labor costs, and overhead, ensuring alignment with financial goals and sustainability. Financial Strategy & Risk Management
Develop and implement financial strategies that support the agency's growth, sustainability, and mission. Assess and mitigate financial risks while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement. Manage investments and align financial strategies with the agency's long-term objectives. Lead and supervise the finance team, including accountants and financial analysts. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment through professional development, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Offer guidance on financial processes to non-financial staff and other departments across the agency. Stakeholder Relations
Effectively communicate financial information to the Executive Director, senior leadership, and Board of Directors. Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and support decision-making across the organization. Represent the finance department in internal and external meetings with regulatory agencies, vendors, and other stakeholders. Qualifications
Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with a minimum of five (5) years in accounting/finance experience at the management level. Experience in the home care or healthcare industry, including HIPAA policies and procedures. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred). Strong knowledge of financial regulatory compliance and financial reporting standards. Experience in cash flow management, cost control, and strategic financial planning. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on mentorship and development.
