Director, Capital Raising and Investor Relations
Our client is seeking an experienced Investor Relations professional to lead capital-raising efforts for a co‑GP fund and future discretionary funds. This role requires a proven track record in real estate capital markets, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage the full investor lifecycle from lead generation to closing and ongoing reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field; master’s degree in real estate or finance preferred.
Minimum of five years’ experience in capital raising for real estate projects, with demonstrated success securing commitments from friends‑and‑family investors, small institutions, and family offices.
Established relationships within the real estate investment community, particularly in the Northeast.
Strong understanding of private equity real estate structures, capital stacks, and fund operations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience preparing and delivering compelling investor presentations.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with SEC regulations and compliance requirements related to fundraising and investor communications.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Lead capital‑raising efforts for a co‑GP fund.
Develop and maintain relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals, friends‑and‑family investors, small institutions, and family offices.
Create and maintain a CRM to track leads, prospects, and investor communications.
Organize and host events to expand the investor lead list and build brand awareness.
Present to prospective investors and arrange meetings for principals.
Represent the firm at industry‑wide conferences and events.
Fund Management & Investor Communications
Prepare investor presentation materials, offering memoranda, and pitch decks.
Coordinate closing processes and oversee fund documentation.
Manage all reporting required for investors, including quarterly updates, capital calls, and distributions.
Ensure compliance with applicable securities laws and internal governance policies.
Future Initiatives
Support the launch of a follow‑on discretionary fund targeting opportunistic multifamily investments nationally with a five‑to‑seven‑year hold period.
Assist in refining and executing the firm’s investor relations strategy to position the firm as a preferred partner for institutional and private capital.
Ideal Investor Relationships
Small and mid‑sized private equity real estate firms.
Family offices with a track record of co‑investing in multifamily and opportunistic real estate deals.
High‑net‑worth individual investor networks and angel investment groups.
Regional banks and credit unions with real estate investment arms.
Registered investment advisors (RIAs) with accredited investor clients.
Club deals with other real estate funds.
