We’re hiring Pest Control Specialist to Live. Work. Explore. at the south rim of the Grand Canyon!

Job Summary Oversee the implementation of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program for all Xanterra buildings at the Grand Canyon South Rim. This role plays a critical part in protecting public health and preserving facility integrity by ensuring that pest‑related issues are addressed promptly and effectively.

Pay: $22.25

Housing: Private 1-Bedroom Apartment for $352.00 per month

Responsibilities

Maintain and implement pest exclusion programs using IPM principles across all facility areas.

Conduct routine and targeted inspections of facilities and ensure department compliance with the IPM program.

Perform physical exclusion measures such as sealing gaps, installing barriers, and modifying structural vulnerabilities.

Collaborate with maintenance, custodial, and food service teams to ensure sanitation and structural standards are upheld.

Maintain detailed records of inspections, treatments, and follow‑up actions using digital tracking systems.

Train staff property‑wide on rodent prevention best practices, including waste management, food storage, and reporting protocols.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of exclusion efforts and adjust strategies as needed.

Perform cleaning and sanitization of areas where pest‑related contamination is present, using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with safety guidelines.

Serve as the primary liaison with pest control vendors, ensuring compliance with IPM standards and contract terms.

Stay current on regulatory requirements, emerging technologies, and industry trends related to pest management and exclusion.

Responsible for maintaining and adhering to Xanterra’s Risk and Sustainability programs, including:

Integrated Pest Management

Hantavirus Exposure Prevention Plan

Bed Bug Program

Animal Exclusion and Intrusion Program

Willing to undertake any other tasks.

Qualifications

Previous experience with pest elimination and control techniques highly preferred.

Must be at least 19 years old.

Must possess a valid driver license and have a clean driving record.

Must have background knowledge in carpentry and be skilled in the use of tools and equipment common to the trade.

Must be able to read, understand, and comply with all current company policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements include:

Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.

Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Must possess physical stamina and condition to withstand heavy labor outside.

Standing, bending, kneeling, crawling in tight spaces for extended periods of time are required.
