Culinary Operations Leader | Food Systems Strategist | CDM Candidate Company Description
Sonoma Family Meal (SFM) is dedicated to strengthening the local food economy and nourishing the community in both crisis and stability times. During disasters, SFM coordinates resources to provide quality emergency meals for impacted residents. The community kitchen in north Petaluma transforms locally sourced ingredients and rescued perishables into meals for families and seniors experiencing food insecurity. SFM also provides culinary career training and support for food businesses.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Petaluma, CA for a Chef de Cuisine. The Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing kitchen staff, creating menus, ordering and sourcing ingredients, and ensuring the quality and consistency of meals produced. The role also involves coordinating with local suppliers and supporting culinary career training programs.
Qualifications
Strong culinary skills, including menu creation and ingredient sourcing
Experience in kitchen management and staff supervision
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to work collaboratively with local suppliers and community members
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Passion for community service and supporting food insecurity initiatives
Experience in culinary career training and mentorship is a plus
Relevant culinary education or certifications are beneficial
