Credit Karma has grown significantly through the years: we now have more than 1,700 employees across our offices in Oakland, Charlotte, Culver City, San Diego, London, Bangalore, and New York City. *Banking services provided by MVB Bank, Inc., Member FDIC As the Director of Business Development in the Credit Cards vertical, you will be a strategic leader responsible for managing, deepening, and expanding relationships with Credit Karma’s largest cards partners. You will also lead innovative ideas at the function and vertical levels, align teams on complex cross-functional projects within the organization and with external partners, and articulate recommendations and solutions with excellent communication. Through your efforts, you’ll have a significant impact on company growth in a member-oriented, mission-driven environment. What you’ll do:
Partner with the largest financial institutions in the country to enable the success of their marketing programs on Credit Karma Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team responsible for partner management, deal negotiation, and cross-functional project leadership Build strong relationships with teams at financial institutions, ranging from EVP+ level executives to hands-on partner managers, analysts, product managers, and legal/compliance associates Develop an in-depth understanding of our partners' and Credit Karma's business goals to identify win-win opportunities for our partnerships that advance Credit Karma's mission Develop, manage, and help execute the partnership team's strategic roadmap in collaboration with Credit Karma's C-level executives and leaders/VPs across product, engineering, marketing and data science, and partners’ teams What’s great about the role:
Direct access to Credit Karma senior leadership and engagement with leaders at various financial institutions High impact, high visibility – guide strategy for Credit Karma Highly cross-functional, collaborative environment – you are the hub of many spokes within Credit Karma Use business acumen, analytical skills and relationship experience to market and execute complex initiatives with both new and existing partners Minimum Basic Requirement:
10+ years of progressive experience in consumer lending, customer acquisition, or digital marketing, with at least 5 years dedicated to direct people management of high-performing business development, sales, or account management teams Preferred Qualifications:
Executive presence with the ability to defend and challenge positions in verbal and written communications Focus on partner satisfaction and experience managing complex relationships in client-facing or senior management roles in sales/consulting/business development Develops senior relationships to act as a trusted advisor with major partners to optimize digital acquisition, activation and engagement strategies Understanding of the consumer finance industry’s challenges and a vision for its growth, advancing Credit Karma’s initiatives Collaborative with cross-functional teams; use proven frameworks to evaluate opportunities and guide team thinking Ability to analyze and synthesize information to develop plans and use data to make decisions and communicate clearly Proven ability to independently research and resolve complex partner questions; knows when to say “no” when necessary Benefits include:
