Traffic Project Engineer We have an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineer with our Transportation team. In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a project engineer, you will perform engineering analysis and supporting calculations and documentation related to traffic safety and operations. You will also coordinate the drafting of project deliverables for various clients. The ideal candidate has experience with traffic and safety and comprehensive knowledge of local and MassDOT standards.

Location: This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Boston office.

Create and execute project work plans

Manage project analysis and deliverables

Work in a collaborative environment, with team members, senior staff, and external clients

Interact with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders

Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events

What We Are Looking For

B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

A minimum of 4 years of diverse and progressive civil transportation and traffic engineering experience

Licensed PE in the state of MA or planning to obtain licensure within one year

PTOE License is a plus!

Experience working with public agencies and/or municipalities. Previous MassDOT experience preferred

Progressive experience with developing plans, analysis and reports per MassDOT standards and requirements

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Advanced use of project-specific software such as CADD, Synchro, GIS, SIDRA, HCS, Vissim, etc.

Ability to work independently and develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner

Compensation Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act: $83,000—$125,000 USD. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.
