Job Overview TransUnion is seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Development Manager to lead high‑performing engineering teams. The role combines technical leadership with people management, guiding the team to deliver robust software solutions while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

What You'll Bring

Minimum 10 years of overall technical experience

3–5 years of people management experience

Strong Java development experience

Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Ability to understand requirements, develop solutions, and provide recommendations

Impact You'll Make Technical Leadership

Lead the development of high‑quality, scalable Java applications.

Provide clear technical direction and design guidance to the team.

Review code, mentor engineers, and ensure best practices are followed.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.

Champion modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, modular design, and cloud‑native development.

People Management

Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, supporting their growth and performance.

Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, and performance evaluations.

Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and results‑driven team culture.

Participate in hiring and onboarding processes to build a strong engineering team.

Project Execution

Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery.

Identify risks, remove blockers, and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Drive continuous improvement in development processes and team productivity.

Pay Scale Information Annual salary range: $90,000.00 – $168,750. Non‑sales positions may be eligible for annual bonus and long‑term incentive plans.

Additional Information Internal Job Title: Manager I, Software Development Company: TransUnion LLC

Location: Hybrid – in‑person at the assigned TU office for at least two days a week, with regular virtual work.
