Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger
Track and record asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and impairments
Monitor construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts and ensure timely capitalization
Calculate and record monthly depreciation and amortization entries
Manage lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842, including classification, recognition, and disclosure
Maintain lease and rentals schedules and ensure timely updates for new, modified, or terminated leases and rentals
Collaborate with equipment department to validate asset classifications, costs, and lease terms
Conduct periodic physical inventory audits of fixed assets
Equipment related invoice approvals and coding and review
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to capital expenditures and lease obligations
Prepare audit schedules and support external audits
Develop and improve fixed asset and lease accounting processes and controls
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or asset-heavy industries
Strong understanding of fixed asset and lease accounting (ASC 842)
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., eCMS, OnBase, Lease Accelerator, or similar ERP systems)
Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail
Excellent organizational and communication skills
CPA or progress toward certification is a plus
Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
