The police officer's responsibilities are to preserve public peace, protect life and property, prevent crime, arrest violators, and use proper enforcement of all laws and ordinances within the boundaries of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. Provide deterrence, detection and investigation of crimes and apprehension of criminal suspects. Patrol assigned areas to prevent crime and enforce Federal, State and Tribal laws and regulations. Respond to radio messages, telephone instructions, and citizen requests for assistance at scenes of disorder or crime. Administer first aid as needed. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities

Respond to radio messages, telephone instructions, and citizen requests for assistance at scenes of disorder or crime. Administer first aid as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Pass ORPAT and POST tests. Pass DPSST physical standards and attend DPSST academy; complete successfully within one year of hire. Physical exam, psychological exam and a rigorous in-depth background, reference, character and financial investigation as required per 101-630 (Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act). Submit to a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Oregon Driver's License. Have no felonies, domestic violence convictions, or misdemeanor convictions within 5 years of employment. Benefits
