Child Placing Agency Training and Licensing Specialist Full-Time

Overview Position responsible for training and licensing activities for prospective foster and adoptive families, including preservice training, certifications, and communications with families. Maintains confidential records and supports families throughout the licensing process.

Essential Functions

Identifies and follows up on potential contacts for prospective foster parents within the same day or next business day after hours.

Assists prospective foster and adoptive families in enrolling for preservice training.

Obtains and maintains current instructor certification for trainings, including preservice training, First Aid and CPR, and other ongoing trainings as needed.

Conducts preservice training for prospective foster and adoptive families.

Collects fingerprints, background checks, preservice paperwork, and other licensing paperwork from families.

Completes family assessments following preservice training.

Provides timely support to prospective foster families.

Updates electronic record system within 48 hours of communication with prospective families.

Maintains good working relationships and facilitates communication with prospective families and other DCCCA staff.

May carry a small caseload of active families as necessary.

Conducts trainings including First Aid and CPR for foster parents.

Maintains regular contact with supervisor and provides updates upon request.

Maintains strict confidentiality.

Job may require the employee to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations, including early morning or evening hours.

Education, Experience, And Licensure

Requires a bachelor's degree in human services or related field.

Requires at least two years of experience providing child welfare and/or family services.

A detailed understanding of foster care is preferred.

Must possess a valid state Driver's License, in-force automobile liability insurance, and maintain an MVR that meets the organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Proficiency with computer programs including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing; proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Proficiency with office equipment: e-mail systems, calculators, copiers, Fax machines, telephones, and voicemail systems.

Effective listening, oral, and written communication skills, including face-to-face interactions; use of positive language.

Regular and predictable on-site attendance.

Adherence to DCCCA values and commitment to respectful, high-quality service.

Travel This position requires travel, which may include driving personal or company-owned vehicles. Driving infractions may affect eligibility to drive for company business. This is a safety-sensitive position.
