Overview
A rapidly growing healthcare technology company is seeking a Generative AI Developer to advance the capabilities of their cloud-based AI platform. This organization leverages artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science to streamline decision-making and improve operational efficiency within clinical and revenue cycle workflows. The company’s award-winning solution is deployed across major hospitals and health plans, recognized for reducing friction and scaling critical processes throughout the care continuum. The Generative AI Developer will join a collaborative, cross-functional team under the guidance of leaders in data science, engineering, product management, and clinical operations. You will design and deploy advanced generative models to deliver impactful, real-world solutions for the automation of healthcare documentation, clinical summarization, and intelligent decision support. This is a remote position. Responsibilities
Model Development & Deployment
Build, refine, and productionize advanced generative AI models—including LLMs, GANs, VAEs, and transformers—tailored for healthcare data and workflows. Fine-tune large language models, design effective prompts, and use transfer learning to address specialized healthcare use cases, ensuring high performance and compliance standards.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and clinical advisors to ideate, prototype, validate, and deploy generative AI features. Translate requirements from business and clinical stakeholders into robust technical solutions that drive automation, enhance decision support, and increase operational efficiency.
Operational Excellence
Develop rigorous testing, validation, and monitoring frameworks for generative AI models to ensure quality, reliability, and real-world performance. Promote model interpretability and compliance within a responsible “human in the loop” operational framework, aligning with industry standards and ethical best practices.
Innovation & Knowledge Sharing
Conduct research on emergent techniques in generative AI and applied healthcare data science, sharing knowledge with colleagues and occasionally communicating advancements to industry audiences. Contribute to continuous improvements in the technical stack, integration pipelines, and deployment strategies working closely with engineering and DevOps.
Requirements
Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (PhD preferred). 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying generative AI models (LLMs, transformers, GANs, VAEs) in Python using industry-standard ML frameworks. Proven track record in fine-tuning and evaluating large language models, applying NLP to unstructured data, and prompt engineering, ideally within healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries. Strong skills in software engineering (Git), distributed/parallel computing, cloud-based ML deployment, and MLOps best practices. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and experience integrating machine learning solutions into scalable SaaS products. Deep understanding of healthcare data challenges, regulatory requirements, and a passion for solutions improving outcomes for clinicians and patients.
