About the Job:

MedStar Health is seeking a visionary and accomplished Attending Physician/HPB Surgeon to lead and advance multidisciplinary care, research, and education in pancreatic and hepatobiliary surgery across the Baltimore region.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership: Oversee and grow a program of HPB surgery and disease management at MedStar Health institutions.

Clinical Excellence: Perform pancreatic and HPB surgery while expanding the surgical program.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with advanced gastroenterology, oncology, radiology, and other specialties.

Education and Training: Lead teaching for fellows, residents, and students; establish a formal HPB curriculum.

Research Development: Drive clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies.

Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance and performance improvement.

Strategic Growth: Collaborate with leadership, set goals and metrics.

Administrative Leadership: Support hospital and regulatory compliance.

Patient-Centered Care: Engage in patient experience initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Trained in an AHPBA, SSO, or ASTS approved fellowship.

Clinical excellence and independence in pancreatic and hepatobiliary surgery.

Experience building interdisciplinary teams.

Commitment to research, teaching, and quality improvement.

Interpersonal and collaborative skills.
